The Joshes met in an advanced photojournalism course at Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2000. While being eaten by mosquitos after a round of golf in August 2010 their idea of Joshua & Co. Photography was born.
Joshua Lawton
I am graduate of the Professional Photography program at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs with an Associate Degree, the Journalism program at Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor Degree, and a Masters Degree in Digital Media at the University of Denver. At DU I learned to develop various forms of interactive digital media for richer storytelling and performative digital art in addition to extensive research about media usage and implementation.
I’m an award-winning staff photojournalist formerly of the Boulder (Colo.) Daily Camera for four-plus years. That was after working as an intern at The Pueblo (Colo.) Chieftain, Boulder Daily Camera, Ventura (Calif.) County Star and Glenwood (Colo.) Post newspapers. My grandfather was a pressman for over 50 years and my uncle has been in newspaper marketing for nearly 20 years, so newspapers are part of the family.
When I’m not working a camera you’ll see me with my wife Kristin pedaling some form of a bike along Colorado mountain roads and singletrack or skiing the winter slopes. We live in Lafayette currently and plan to travel as much as possible to experience the many cultures and people of the world.

I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Colorado with an Associate Degree and the Journalism program at Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor Degree.
Prior to becoming a staff photographer at The Longmont (Colo.) Times-Call — a daily newspaper serving Boulder and Southwest Weld Counties — I served an internship at Colorado’s oldest daily newspaper — The Pueblo (Colo.) Chieftain. I am a routine top-ten points holder in the National Press Photographer Association Region 9 competition as well as garnering numerous awards from the Colorado Associated Press Editors Association, The Colorado Press Association, and other national journalism organizations.
I love photographing people and visual storytelling. I currently reside in Longmont, Colo., with my great wife, Jaime and our two daughters, Kennedy and Danica.
